Pico de gallo
RECIPE: 1 ripe tomato, diced into small pieces
1/2 red onion, diced into small pieces (Can substitute 1/2 white onion or 4 stalks of scallions)
1/4 cup of cilantro chopped into small pieces
1 Lime, squeeze juice from whole lime
1/2 spicy pepper, diced into small pieces (Optional)
1Pinch of salt, or to taste.
Make sure your tomato is ripe and does not have any mushy or brown spots With an adults help, dice up the tomato into small pieces |
If you want your pico de gallo to have a milder taste, you can use a white onion or for an even milder taste, you can use scallions. |
Rinse cilatro well to remove any dirt that might be there. Remove stems until you have a pile of leaves. Chop, chop and chop some more until you have small bits. |
Slice lime in half and remove the juice from both halves |
Mix everything together in a bowel. Place mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes, so that all the flavors can mix together. Serve with tortilla chips, and Enjoy!!! |
